The following is a list of items that can be brought into the garden without having to request approval from the village office. If an item you want to bring into the garden does not exactly match the description of one of the items below, you have to request approval by submitting the request for approval form.
List of pre-approved items and materials
- Non-rust tomato cages less than 5 ft tall
- Untreated bamboo poles and hoops less that 5 ft tall
- Structures that are less than 5 ft tall made with untreated pine wood
- Structures that are less than 5 ft tall made with untreated cedar wood
- Structures that are less than 5 ft tall made with untreated wood branches
- Structures that are less than 5 ft tall made with untreated pallets
- Twine
- Clear plastic sheet for making small green houses during the winter. The plastic covering should be discarded outside the garden after use and should not be left in plots, paths or the compost pile
Items NOT allowed for use in the garden
The list of items/materials that are NOT allowed in the garden include but are not limited to the following:
- Painted or stained wood
- Pressure treated wood
- Fabric/plastic weed barrier
- Methyl bromide treated pallet
- Particle board or MDF
- Fiberboard
- Plywood
- Rusted metal stakes
- Irrigation systems
- PVC or plastic hoops
- Any structure more than 5 ft tall even if it is made of approved materials
- Any kind of chairs, benches, tables, stools or other furniture
